While our dumpsters can handle most debris, there are some items that cannot be disposed of due to local regulations and safety concerns. Here’s a list of items that are prohibited:
DUMPSTER DAWGS
What You CANNOT Throw in a Dumpster
Refrigerators & Hot Water Tanks
These appliances often contain hazardous components like refrigerants or insulation materials that require special handling.
Paint, Lacquers, & Adhesives
These items are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of according to local hazardous materials guidelines.
Railroad Ties
Railroad ties are often treated with creosote, a toxic chemical, making them unsuitable for dumpster disposal.
Medical Waste & Hazardous Materials
This includes infectious waste, oils, fuels, propane tanks, contaminated soils, asbestos, and industrial drums. These materials pose a safety risk and require proper disposal methods.
Tires
Tires are not allowed in dumpsters, as they require specialized recycling processes.
Car Batteries
Due to the toxic chemicals inside, car batteries need to be taken to a specific recycling facility.
Household Cleaners & Chemicals
Many household cleaners contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Avoid disposing of them in dumpsters.
